Following Nintendo’s announcement that it will increase the price of the Switch 2 in a few months, the company has announced it will launch a “Choose Your Game Bundle” for the Nintendo Switch 2 in early June at retail, according to a press release. This bundle will be $499.99 USD / $699.99 CAD for a limited time while supplies last, but lets buyers choose between Mario Kart World, Donkey Kong Bananza, or Pokémon Pokopia as the digital pack-in game.
It’s kind of neat for Nintendo to offer more options to players, but it also feels like a move to get more people to buy a Switch 2 before the doom clock counts down to the console’s inevitable price hike on September 1st. Switch 2 currently costs $449.99 USD / $629.99 CAD, but with the bundle, it offers a discount on the first-party Nintendo game that comes packed in. However, it’s more money-saving for Mario Kart World, which is the only one that costs $79.99 USD / $109.99 CAD.
I know, as someone who got a Switch 2 recently, but to save money passed on getting a Mario Kart World bundle that I remember being in stock at the time. I feel like I’m kind of missing out because Donkey Kong Bananza and Pokémon Pokopia are games I definitely would pony up more for than Mario Kart World. The Nintendo Switch 2 launches back in June with a Mario Kart World bundle that was available for a limited time until Christmas of last year.
