NetEase has been on a hiring spree as of late. Recently, it signed Yakuza creator Toshihiro Nagoshi, Goichi Suda added Grasshopper Manufacture to NetEase and recently Quantic Dream. Tonight, it’s been revealed that NetEase has signed on Hiroyuki Kobayashi who will run GPTRACK50 out of Osaka, Japan.
Kobayashi is a Capcom veteran having worked on Resident Evil and Devil May Cryover a 27-year tenure. The President, Hiroyuki Kobayashi, has personally worked on the production of Resident Evil‘s live-action and CG animation series.
“I believe that NetEase Games, a company with extensive experience in investment and co-development, is a very reliable business partner in developing high-quality games and entertainment projects. With the support and respect from NetEase in understanding my and my team’s development achievements and values, I will build a stronger team with the goal of creating more original quality content that will satisfy users around the world,” says Kobayashi.
The studio will primarily focus on producing high-quality console / PC game content with the goal of growing into an establishment with a global media portfolio.
