It’s been almost a decade since the last Uncharted game, which introduced Chloe and Nadine as protagonists after Nathan Drake hung up his guns to start a family. Fans have asked for more ever since.
A recent report by MP1st says that Naughty Dog is gearing up to return to the world of Uncharted. It’s also been said that Naughty Dog’s Shaun Escayag will helm the project after returning to the studio in 2021. Previously, he served as a director at Crystal Dynamics, where he worked on Marvel’s Avengers.
@NateTheHate2 Did you hear something about Shaun Escayg project at Naughty Dog?

Leaker NateTheHate also mentioned the Naughty Dog news. Yesterday, he said Escayag was working on something unrelated to The Last of Us. This lines up with a photo of the director on location researching Fort George in Trinidad and Tobago.
What stands out is that the report mentions protagonist Nathan Drake returning in some capacity, but it doesn’t make clear what his role would be. Some speculate he might be a cameo or supporting character in the next entry.
For now, Naughty Dog is focused on releasing Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, which is expected to launch in 2027.
