Today Naughty Dog announced that Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is delayed and will release in Spring 2016. The highly anticipated title has created a lot of hype since it was first announced at E3 2014 and the original release date was set for 2015. In December 2014 fans increased their confidence in original release date when they saw gameplay at the Playstation Experience presentation. Since then developers felt that they needed more time to perfect Nathan Drake’s next adventure. In a joint statement Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End directors, Bruce Straley and Neil Druckmann released a statement,
“After spending so many years with Nathan Drake, he means a lot to the team, and telling the climactic chapter of his adventures is a task we don’t take lightly – this game deserves every bit of the attention to detail, precise pacing, and nuanced storytelling Naughty Dog is known for.”
The next Gen installment in the Uncharted franchise takes place 3 years after the events of Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception and finds hero, Nathan Drake, retired from fortune hunting. Things are turned on its heels when Nathan’s thought to be dead brother, Sam, appears needing his help. Given the title, many fans believe that this will be the last journey for Nathan Drake; so they won’t mind the wait if the final product delivers as a game of the year contender.
