Publisher Eastasiasoft has announced in collaboration with Idea Factory that Mugen Souls Z is heading to the Nintendo Switch eShop in North America, Europe and Hong Kong markets. No release date was revealed as a part of this initial announcement. Still, the game isn’t strictly a digital-only release as a limited physical edition was also revealed, with pre-orders going live on PlayAsia later this week on June 22nd at 11 AM ET.
For those looking to hold the Nintendo Switch version of Mugen Souls Z, the game is not just getting a standard physical version but a special limited edition as well that comes with the game, manual, 2-disc soundtrack, sticker sheets, art book and numbered certificate in a collector’s box. This Mugen Souls Z partnership is the fourth collaboration between companies following up on the Nintendo Switch releases of Moero Crystal H, Seven Pirates H and Mugen Souls.
This version of the game isn’t just a straight-up port. Still, it is set to feature a “remastered HD presentation,” all prior extras, content valid to the original Japanese release such as hot springs mini-games / additional CG gallery images, and full English language support for both text and audio.
Mugen Souls Z is the sequel to Mugen Souls, which first launched on PS3 on April 25th, 2013, in Japan and later released worldwide on the platform on May 20th, 2014. The game would later jump to Steam for PC users on August 26th, 2016. Players jumping into the game on Nintendo Switch will play as the Undisputed goddess Chou-Chou as she attempts to conquer the twelve Zodiac worlds alongside a crew of frenemies.
Playing the game will be an all too familiar battleground with the return of the original’s classic strategic turn-based gameplay features, free-roaming battle maps, a level-cap of 9999 (yep, you read that right), and being able to deal billions of points in damage. Players can also customize the appearance and abilities of the enemies they bring/charm over to their side.
