Mouse: P.I. For Hire “Update 1.2” Is Out Now, Adds Level Revisit, VRR, and More

Today, Fumi Games and PlaySide Studios released a significant update for their 1930s noir-inspired shooter, Mouse: P.I. For Hire.

We gave Mouse: P.I. For Hire a nearly perfect score, praising an elastic and eclectic style that simply isn’t around anymore.

Simply put, we’ve enjoyed every opportunity we’ve had to sit down and boot up this delightful boomer shooter.

And so, Fumi Games has listened — and given us the opportunity to do it again, and again, and again.

“Update 1.2” — the game’s largest yet — introduces the highly requested “Level Revisit” feature, which lets players replay previously completed levels, allowing them to collect any collectibles and complete side quests they may have missed on their first playthrough.

To load up this feature, simply bring up the overworld map, drive to a mission start location and hit “Revisit.”

For those who have already seen the credits roll, the game will now transport players directly to the HUB zone, providing easy access to the overworld map for replaying levels. Players who have already finished the game simply need to select “Continue” or reload their latest save file in the Main Menu, which will take them back to the HUB zone and grant access to the overworld map to replay levels.

Additionally, a range of quality-of-life improvements and bug fixes have found their way into “Update 1.2” — including full support for ultrawide monitors on PC (I am excited about this), uncapped Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) and performance optimizations throughout the game.

Switch 2 players also have a brand-new “Balanced” graphics mode with 40 FPS framerate.

In line with recent trends, physical copies of Mouse: P.I. For Hire will go on sale tomorrow (July 10), with shipping to begin soon.

There’s also a special physical Deluxe “Mouseburg Edition” that nets you the base game, as well as a seven-inch vinyl record with four tracks from the official game soundtrack (OST), a double-sided poster featuring a map of Mouseburg on the front and a schematic of Jack Pepper’s trusty “Micer” pistol on the back, a printed comic book with two sticker sheets, 33 Mouseburg baseball trading cards and three premium Mouseburg postcards.
