This morning a tweet from the official Mortal Kombat Twitter account teased that something was coming tomorrow morning at 9:00 AM EDT. In the short trailer, NetherRealm Studio teases us with a tagline stating “The Epic Saga Continues,” with Liu Kang and Raiden seemingly rebooting the world.

But things do not go smoothly for the Earth Realm’s protectors as the soul-stealing sorcerer Shang-Tsung appears, ready to stop the pair from accomplishing their goals. It’s an exciting setup to the story and certainly, a nice addition to the game after several new characters were added.
