Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath Is Set to Launch Later This Month

After teasing new content coming to Mortal Kombat 11 yesterday, we got our first official look at the new single-player story NetherRealm is working on, that continues the storyline found in the game.

Liu Kang, the new keeper of time and Earthrealm protector must work with his old opponent Shang Tsung to correct the timeline and create a new history. Joining him on his quest is Fujin, Sheeva, and Robocop. That last one took me by surprise when I read the press release this morning but yes, Detroit’s protector is joining the roster of Mortal Kombat 11. Peter Weller returns to voice the character and his likeness is used, too. Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath will also include three new character skin packs to be released over time.

All Mortal Kombat 11 owners will also gain access to new stages, including the classic Dead Pool and Soul Chamber, which come with their own Stage Fatalities, finishing moves that use the environment to destroy opponents, and the popular Friendships feature from the ‘90s, which allows players to take down their adversaries with a hint of kindness.

Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath will go live on May 26, 2020, for $59.99 CAD.
