Mortal Kombat 1 Roster Adds Reptile, Ashrah, and Havik

At EVO 2023, NetherRealm Studios announced Reptile, Ashrah, and Havikwould join the Mortal Kombat 1 roster in September. In a new trailer, the three characters had their moment to shine and excite the crowd in attendance.

In a new trailer called The Banished, we get our first look at Repile, Ashrah, and Havik. Reptile, who also goes by Syzoth, is a reptiloid slave and shapeshifter from the Outworld and spews an acidic substance at enemies. Ashrah is a Netherrealm demon who has purged herself of the evil ideologies her kind shares and now fights with the Kriss dagger while seeking absolution. Lastly, Havik is a rebel from the realm of Seido who intends to take his world’s regime down with his limb-tearing combat style.

Since his debut in Mortal Kombat 2, Reptile has been a longstanding fighter, where in his earliest moments, he was a palette swap for Sub-Zero and Scorpion. Reptile served as an easter egg in his first sighting and was not playable until later.

Ashrah debuted in Mortal Kombat: Deception and hasn’t been playable since. This marks her return to an active character slot. Lastly, Havik also appeared in Deception and was a Cleric of Chaos and was neither good nor evil.

Sareena joins Mortal Kombat 1 as a Kameo fighter, characters who assist you when battling other characters and cannot be controlled by the player. Sareena first appeared in Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero and was later playable in Mortal Kombat: Tournament Edition.

Mortal Kombat 1 launches for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series, and PC on September 19.
