NetherRealm Studios and Warner Bros. Games revealed the Mortal Kombat 1 launch trailer earlier today. In the trailer, we glimpse Shang Tsung and Reiko, who will join Nitara, Jean-Claude Van Damme, and many more.
Serving as a reboot after Fire God Liu Kang resets the universe, we’re about to experience brand new takes on many familiar characters. Today’s trailer also showcases Shang Tsung’s sorcery, including fireball projectiles and the ability to change into other characters. Additionally, General Shao’s second-in-command, Reiko, makes an appearance.
Story Mode returns with an immersive “cinematic narrative” which is said to include unexpected twists on classic rivalries and new backstories for the cast, including Liu Kang, Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Raiden, Kung Lao, Kitana, Mileena, Shang Tsung, Johnny Cage, and many others.
Additionally, Kameo Fighters will be added, featuring a unique roster of partner characters that assist in battle.
