Monster Hunter: World Ships Five Million In Three Days

A new series record for the franchise

It looks like Monster Hunter: World is a smashing success for Capcom. Releasing last Friday for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, the hard work the studio put in over the last four years has finally come to fruition with massive numbers signaling positive feedback from consumers and critics.

With five million copies shipped, which includes digital sales, these numbers include both Europe and North America with a PC release still on the horizon set for later this fall.

Breaking records in just four days, Capcom confirms World’s release is the biggest three-day series debut in its history, the Monster Hunter franchise has sold a cumulative 45 million units worldwide as of yesterday.

This is my first time purchasing a copy of the series, aside from the last year’s Monster Hunter Stories, a JRPG set in the same universe, I’m eager to see why people are going crazy for Monster Hunter: World.
