With under a week to go before Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin arrives on Nintendo Switch and today Ryozo Tsujimoto and director Kenji Ogurorevealed the game’s post-launch road map. According to this road map, we will see five free updates spread out through the summer and fall of 2021.
The first content drop arrives July 15, with a Palamute being added as a monstie, which were in Monster Hunter Rise. In August, we’ll see the second title update with a Kulve Taroth co-op quest, Hellblade Glavenus and Boltreaver Astalos monsties.
The third update that arrives in September includes three new monsties including Soulseer Mizutsune, Elderfrost Gammoth, and Oroshi Kirin. September’s update in the back half of the month includes a higher difficulty Kuve Taroth co-op quest and also the Dreadking Rathalos and Molten Tigrex. In October, we’ll get the fifth content drop including an unknown high difficulty co-op monster quest and the Silver Rathalos and Gold Rathian monsties.
The spin-off series began its life on the Nintendo 3DS before spawning a sequel that’ll arrive this month on both Nintendo Switch and PC. You’ll become a Rider and form bonds with friendly monsters known as Monsties to fight alongside them as you take part in an epic story within the Monster Hunter universe.
