As featured on today’s Monster Hunter livestream, we got some exciting news about Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin and Monster Hunter Rise. Set to go live tomorrow, version 2.0 will add new monsters, new hunts and a boost to Hunter Rank.
Let’s start with Hunter Rank – the cap was set to 7 but now with it being uncapped, you can endlessly rank up to enter new hunts. This is an exciting change that I’m happy Capcom decided to change with this update.
You can expect quests to hunt new Apex Monsters including Diablos and Rathalos, and also Teostra, Kushala Daora, and Chameleos. I’m not sure I’m ready to face these monsters just yet but by the looks of it, they are intimidating and it makes me eager to get back to playing Rise since I’ve been away for a few weeks go.
New quests will also unlock with version 2.0, so you’ll be able to increase your level. You can also forge layered armour and there is downloadable content coming but it is all cosmetic.
The next update is scheduled to happen in May with version 2.0. Capcom says this update includes a new ending as well as new monsters so be sure to stick around for that. Furthermore, there will be crossover DLC between Monster Hunter Stories 2 and Monster Hunter Rise, you’ll unlock armor sets to use in both games.
The update is expected to go live Tuesday, April 27 at 8 PM ET.
