Microsoft’s The Initiative Studio Recruits Ex-Tomb Raider, God Of War Developers

Microsoft announced at E3 this year a ton of new games, and the opening of a new studio, The Initiative. The studio has recrited a number of talent since the announcement, including some players that made big games like God of War, Red Dead Redemption, and Tomb Raider successful.

Studio lead Darrell Gallagher announced via his LinkedIn page the news but shortly after the post was removed. Luckily, a poster on ResetERA nabbed a copy of Gallagher’s post and took to the forum to post it.

Of note is the hiring of Brian Westergaard who worked on the wildly successful God of War soft reboot, Christian Cantamessa, who previously worked at Rockstar on Red Dead Redemption, Daniel Neuburger, who was the director on Tomb Raider. These three have been cogs in successful gaming franchises so it’s nice to see Microsoft putting them together to create new and exciting IPs for gamers.

Well, this sounds like is going to be the “Dream Team” of Microsoft for developing new games.
