When are DLC announcements ever… calming?
The answer appears to be when they are for the matcha-holding-cup Pokémon Poltchageist.
The new take on Generation 8’s Sinistea appears to be inspired by the Japanese sense of calmness and culture that will be a part of Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet‘s The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero Part 1: The Teal Mask DLC and its land of Kitakami.
About the supposed relationship between the two Pokémon, The Pokémon Company has this to say, “Poltchageist has a swirl pattern not unlike Sinistea’s—but unlike Sinistea, its swirl is not a weakness. After a target is sprinkled with some of Poltchageist’s powdery body or eats food dusted with it, Poltchageist drains its life force and absorbs it as energy.”
As part of this, Poltchageist has the unique “Hospitality” ability that allows the Matcha Pokémon to restore a small amount of its ally’s HP when it enters a battle.
Poltchageist will be a great support addition to your team.
