Marvel's Spider-Man 2

PlayStation Confirms Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is Launching on PS5 in Fall 2023

After rumblings of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 surfaced through a premature wishlist listing for the game and the most recent Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse trailer that featured developer, Insomniacs’ incarnation of the character – we got confirmation when the exclusive is launching. In a PlayStation blog post detailing the platform’s biggest software and hardware releases for 2023, Sony revealed Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will be launching exclusively on PS5 in fall 2023.

That’s all we know at this point as the trailer on the post is the same initial reveal we got back at the PlayStation Showcase from last year. It’s nice to at least put a release window on the game, so PlayStation gamers anticipating the game going into next year don’t have to question when exactly the game is coming but when we get into the summer season, hopefully, Sony will put a date on the game than whether during E3 or during its own showcase.

“What a year it’s been for PlayStation Studios; here at Insomniac Games, we’ve been in absolute awe of the work of our peers. Congrats to everyone on a successful 2022… and here’s to next year being just as exciting as we continue to get Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 ready for release next fall,” Insomniac Games creative director, Bryan Intihar said in a statement in a blog post.

The upcoming official sequel is set to follow the events of Marvel’s Spider-Man and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, as for who else will show up in the game – Venom will seemingly make his presence known which is set to be the first interaction with this version of Spider-Man. The reveal trailer also featured narration dialogue from someone who sounds like Kraven the Hunter if the accent is anything to go off.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is set to launch exclusively on PS5 sometime in fall 2023.

PlayStation also highlighted several other notable releases happening in 2023 beginning with Forspoken (January 24), the DualSense Edge (January 26), Hogwarts Legacy (February 10) and PlayStation VR2 (February 22), Destiny 2: Lightfall (February 28), Resident Evil 4 (March 24) and Final Fantasy XVI (June 22).
