During Gamescom Opening Night Live, 2K Games and Firaxis finally revealed the long rumoured XCOM inspired tactical RPG set within the darker side of the Marvel universe.
Using magic and science, Hydra has successfully revived Lilith, the first demon and mother of all monsters. Lilith’s goal is simple: summon her evil master Chthon to fulfill an ancient prophecy and bring ruin to the world. The Avengers have been teetering on the edge and need all the help they can get to stop the forces of Hell from taking over the Earth.
Enter the Midnight Suns– Nico Minoru, Blade, Magik, and Ghost Rider – young heroes with powers deeply rooted in the supernatural. These heroes will work together to stop the prophecies from coming true and together have resurrected the Hunter, a new superhero created by Firaxis with the help of Marvel. The Hunter is the forsaken child of Lilith and the only hero to have ever defeated her.
“We’re thrilled to team with Firaxis Games, who combine a history of building outstanding tactical games with an authentic love of Marvel’s supernatural side,” said Bill Rosemann, Vice President of Creative at Marvel Games. “Marvel’s Midnight Suns offers players the chance to not only live alongside legendary heroes, but also experience an all-new, original story that dives deep into the monstrous shadows of the Marvel Universe. Darkness Falls. Rise Up!”
A Midnight Suns gameplay trailer is set to arrive on September 1, ahead of the game’s official launch in March 2022.
