The fight for Earth is about to begin! In MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls, a brand-new Marvel fighting experience mixing the comics of the West with manga of the East, an unorthodox X-Men team led by the stern Storm and the grizzled Wolverine, and rounded out by fan-favourite Magik and a more Kawaii take on AI-made-“human” Danger takes on a new threat that puts all we hold dear in…well…danger.
While this is a fighting game, it also features an “Episode Mode” presented as motion comics, centred on manga illustrated by celebrated artists. The game will feature full voice acting in 10 languages (English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Latin American Spanish, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin), and its music and audio will support spatial audio via PS5’s Tempest 3D AudioTech. Beyond visuals and sound, the mode leverages the PlayStation 5 DualSense Wireless controller’s features to deliver a tactile storytelling experience.
Starting February 19, you can pre-order one of three versions and earn yourself the Infinity Gauntlet to wear in the Lobby, Groot to keep you company, and the Cosmic Surfboard to hang 10 on!
For those willing to drop some Adamantium, there’s a “Deluxe” edition that includes Lobby Howard the Duck (I love that duck!) and Cosmo (bark bark!)
For those with the budget to open a refuge for mutans, there’s the “Ultimate” edition, which includes all content from the “Deluxe” plus additional cosmetic items. This includes a costume for Storm, Captain America, Doctor Doom, Iron Man, and Spider-Man. Spider-Man’s costume is inspired by the Advanced Suit 2.0 from Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, developed by our friends at Insomniac Games. The “Ultimate” edition also includes an animated chromatic colour unlock for all 20 launch characters.
