Marvel has announced that the game Marvel Heroes is shutting down and that they are cutting ties to Gazillion Entertainment.
“We regret to inform our Marvel Heroes fans that we have ended our relationship with Gazillion Entertainment, and that the Marvel Heroes games will be shut down. We would like to sincerely thank the players who joined the Marvel Heroes community, and will provide any further updates as they become available.”
According to sources, players knew something was happening as the team at Gazillion Entertainment missed four weekly updates, and missed the Gladiator Thor pack, which coincided with the recently released Thor: Ragnarok.
Kotaku confirmed this with Gazillion employees who said that since the beginning the company faced problems including layoffs. Marvel Heroes launched in 2013 and was an exclusive until earlier this year.
