Sega has revealed the opening cinematic for September’s Lost Judgment, the follow-up to 2019’s Judgment that introduced us to the larger world of the Yakuza series.
The new video showcases the new theme song “Rasen” by jon-YAKITORY featuring Ado. We know the game is set in December 2021, and Takayuki Yagami has been hired to solve a new case centred on the accusation of Akihiro Ehara, the person accused of several crimes, including a grisly murder in the Isezaki Ijincho district of Yokohama.
When Lost Judgment was revealed to the public, Sega’s Creative Director Toshihiro Nagoshi confirmed that the Judgment series will retain the original action-heavy battle system used in the first game and up to Yakuza 6: The Song of Life. The mainline Yakuza series will now continue to be an RPG series, which began as an April Fools prank but has since evolved into something brand new.
Lost Judgment launches September 24 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
