Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria

Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria Announced

A new The Lord of the Rings game is coming and it’s unlike anything we’ve seen so far. The upcoming game, Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria is described as a crafting-survival game set within the Fourth Age of Middle-earth. Gimli summons you to the Misty Mountains, and as part of a company of Dwarves, you must reclaim the lost spoils of Moria.

The Mines of Moria have long been a central location within Middle-earth with both film trilogies including them as key places the Dwarves once held dear. At one point, it was one of the most important places the Dwarves hold sway over until they had no choice but to abandon it.

With your company, you’ll head down deep into the Mines of Moria to recover lost treasure while trying to survive the dangers of the underground. You’ll also craft, build and explore the sprawling mines that offer endless experiences thanks to the procedurally generated Dwarven realm.

“We at Free Range Games are absolutely thrilled to finally reveal The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria,” said Chris Scholz, CEO of Free Range Games. “J.R.R. Tolkien and all of his creations within Middle-earth are near and dear to our hearts, and this project presents an amazing opportunity to create new experiences born from one of the greatest stories ever told. We are pouring a lot of passion into the game to give players an unforgettable experience.”

You’ll need to conserve resources, hunt and gather food and even manage your sleep, temperature, and noise levels. With hordes of Orcs ready to engage you with Moria, you’ll need to keep them at bay. The Dwarves will also build new bases and also defend them from the dangers lurking in the shadows.

Your goal is to rebuild the lost kingdom of Khazad-dum, restoring it to its former glory and recovering the Dwarven landmarks. Finding old mines and restoring their kiln fire allows you to find even more resources.

The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria also comes with co-op multiplayer so you can play with friends with up to eight players. Additionally, you’ll come across legendary Dwarven weapons, tools, armour, and more and can upgrade them.
