Daedalic revealed a new game called The Lord of the Rings: Gollum, and features the life of Gollum before the Tolkien novels. The former bearer of the One Ring gets his moment, hobbitses.
Of course, the German developer revealed that they have a new game on the way, and that’s it’s based on years in which Smeagol/Gollum had the One Ring in his possession. If you remember, during that time he did little more than living in caves, idolizing his precious, and eating sushi all day. The gameplay described as an action-adventure. Another gameplay element the studio mentioned is how the Gollum and Smeagol personalities, serve as a gameplay element – both good and bad choices.
What excites me about this new game is that there is very little association to the Peter Jackson films (of which the Lord Of The Rings trilogy is my favourite trilogy) and instead, uses the rights associated with the novels. Instead of the Andy Serkis portrayal, this is wholly original, as is the world of Middle-Earth, with different landmarks.
Sounds good, right? There isn’t any other information, gameplay or images available but launches in 2021.
