Per The Hollywood Reporter, a live-action film based on the classic arcade game Pac-Man is in the works.
Bandai Namco Entertainment and Wayfarer Studios are collaborating on the project. Bandai Namco is the publisher of Pac-Man for the last several years and Wayfarer is a production company founded by Justin Baldoni and Steve Sarowitz.
Pac-Man has been around for decades, making the leap from Japan to the West in 1980. Originally known as Puck Man in Japan, the iconic character was known for his love of fruit and hate of ghosts.
Most recently, Bandai Namco revealed Pac-Man World Re-Pac, which is set to launch later this month.
The Hollywood Reporter says that the Pac-Man will be based on an original idea from Chuck Williams who worked on Sonic the Hedgehog
