Square Enix has announced that the incredible and wonderful Live a Live is getting additional platform support next month as one of the best games I enjoyed last year lands on PlayStation consoles and PC.
In a press release sent out this morning, Square Enix revealed that the Historia remake is coming on April 27, 2023, with support on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC. Live a Live launched on the Nintendo Switch on July 22.
A demo will be available today on PlayStation consoles and PC. It allows access to sample three of the eight stories told with “The Wild West,” “Twilight of Edo Japan,” and the “Distant Future.” being available. Any progress made in the demo carries over to the full game at launch on April 27.
Live a Live’s visuals, audio, and stories are well worth experiencing for yourself. The HD-2D engine is one of the better engines out there and a perfect vehicle for classical games to be remade in modern times. We’ve seen how excellent Octopath Traveler 2 turned out and there are several Dragon Quest games that would benefit from the engine.
