Sony Brings LittleBigPlanet 3 Offline

The Sumo Digital developed LittleBigPlanet 3 was temporarily meant to be taken offline.

Sony disabled servers due to ongoing DDoS attacks. They posted about the incident to Twitter, indicating that their only choice was to take servers offline to fix the issue. “We do not take these attacks lightly especially when they target our loyal community members. Thanks for understanding.”

According to the publisher, the move was initiated because of bad-faith fans who were seemingly unhappy about how Sony had handled LittleBigPlanet.

Now, it seems like the hope of being able to play with other people and experience their creations in LittleBigPlanet 3 is gone. Sony confirmed the servers will stay offline, and any access to online features will no longer be accessible.

You can still access user-generated content stored locally, and the campaign will be available. At least we still have SackBoy: A Big Adventure.
