Sega revealed the follow-up to Yakuza: Like a Dragon at the Xbox Games Showcase, and it’ll launch in Early 2023. Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth will be a direct sequel to Like a Dragon and stars ex-yakuza members Kasuga Ichiban and Kazuma Kiryu as dual protagonists.
In a surprise reveal, there seems to be a bit of a mystery regarding exactly where Ichiban wakes up because everyone around him speaks English. We can tell it isn’t Yokohama because that’s where Like a Dragon took place, and this new trailer is a lot more sandy than average. My guess is our protagonist Ichiban has ended up in Hawaii and wakes up nude on the beach there.
Nothing else was revealed today (probably because the trailer needed the team’s energy to meticulously place everyday items in the right spots to prevent Ichiban from being exposed). Still, I wager we’ll see Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth at RGG Summit Summer 2023 later this week. We’ll also likely see more on Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name, the spinoff revealed on Thursday at Summer Game Fest 2023
Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is next year on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and PC.
