It’s been a little more than half since we last heard details of Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name with its story and characters. This time around, publisher Sega and developer Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio have released even more detailed information on its upcoming franchise game but this time around focusing on the fan’s favourite part of the franchise… the mini-games.
This entry set between Yakuza 6: The Song of Life and Yakuza: Like a Dragon sees the return of a couple of classic modes from the franchise’s past, including the Coliseum arena fight pit with expanded fight selections, an IRl Cabaret Club, Pocket Circuit, Karaoke, Darts, and much more. Can’t forget about the arcade where players can once again play classic games from Sega’s past, including a first-time chance to play arcade game exclusive, Daytona USA 2 for the first time in the west and on consoles but for legal reasons will be renamed, Sega Racing Classic 2 in Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name.
We have a full list of the mini-game features coming to Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name when it arrives later this fall, which you can check below.
Coliseum
The Coliseum in Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name can only be described as the franchise’s version of an adult theme park where VIPs can watch fan-favourite characters from the Tojo Clan and others throw down in the hell arena. Some of the modes players will be able to choose from include Tournament, Hel Rumble, Soecial Team Event, and Hell Team Rumble. It’s not all about fighting but hanging out as well with the Coliseum’s Fighters’ Lounge where you can talk and bond with team members and forge a bond with new allies as well.
Cabaret Club
Unlike past games where you can play the Cabaret Club mini-game or dating game with in-engine versions of the women your character could interact with, RGG Studio has decided to go full live-action models whom Kiryu under his codename, Joryu will attempt to build his relationship. Players will be able to spend their evenings with up to five characters and who knows it might lead to some eyebrow-raising private time with any one of these girls where they could reveal another side of themselves, just depends on how you play the “game.”
Pocket Circuit
It’s time to rev it up as Pocket Circuit is making its return, our former 1988 champion is coming out of retirement at 50 years old to once again win the big one in 2018 but this time in Sotenburi at CourStar—a bar and cafe. To help you along the way is Pocket Circuit Fighter Ran who does help you get the best parts to make your pocket circuit ride the best like no car ever was. The newest version of Pocket Circuit features some new modes including Time Attack and Rival.
Karaoke
For Karaoke in Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name RGG Studios is adding the first-ever Christmas song, “Sayonara Silent Night” which is described as embodying the feelings of a middle-aged man unable to tell the love of his life his true feelings. Players will also be able to sing duets with the game’s newest character, Akame – Sotenbori’s Jack-Of-All-Trades.
