LEGO‘s Technic lineup goes hard when it comes to helping car heads celebrate the fastest cars in the world — formerly assembling Bugatti, Lamborghini, and Ferrari supercars.
And now, they are building one of the fastest supercars yet produced — the Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear.
But the Danish master builders weren’t just content to build a realistic model and plaque for their desk.
Instead, they also took a Lifesize LEGO Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear to the roads surrounding Goodwood in the U.K.
Markus Lundh, Koenigsegg’s record-setting test driver, took to the legendary hill, where he previously set a speed record in the Sadair’s Spear in 2025 during the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
Together with the Swedish luxury automaker, the life-size, drivable LEGO Technic Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear was constructed from 327,906 LEGO elements.
It’s a heavy boy, coming in at approximately 1,800kg, of which 400kg is tallied as being thanks to LEGO elements.
It took more than 9,400 hours to develop and construct.
Moved by the collaboration, Christian von Koenigsegg, CEO of Koenigsegg, said in a press release that, “Innovation and extreme performance are at the core of everything we do. To see Sadair’s Spear recreated not only as a highly detailed 1:8-scale LEGO Technic model but also as a full-scale, drivable vehicle is truly remarkable. Our partnership with the LEGO Group demonstrates how a shared passion for engineering and creativity can result in something extraordinary.”
Kasper Rene Hansen, senior model designer at the LEGO Group, added, “Our ambition was to create the most advanced LEGO Technic build we’ve ever produced. Incorporating features such as a working Ghost Mode, a 9-speed sequential gearbox and the unique Triplex suspension system -all firsts for a Technic Ultimate model – pushed the boundaries of what’s possible. We hope this set captures the spirit and technical sophistication of the Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear, while delivering a rewarding experience for builders. This set really embodies the philosophy of LEGO Technic – Build For Real!”
The LEGO Technic Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear set is out July 1 for LEGO Insiders and July 4 for everyone else.
It features:
- 4,104 LEGO pieces
- An authentic V8 piston engine.
- A functional 9-speed transmission.
- A unique Triplex front-and-rear suspension.
- A new rotating gear indicator disc that visually displays which gear the model is currently in.
- And perhaps most incredibly, a stealth “Ghost Mode” transition that mimics how the real-life car transitions.
