Batman Forever Batmobile

Here Are The LEGO Batmobiles You Need This Batman Day

As a billionaire…and a crime fighter in armour that once had very articulate nipples, Batman doesn’t take public Transit.

Batman can’t be waiting on the bus when the Joker is hitting the Gotham National in the Diamond District, so he’s always had a car, a motorbike, a plane and a boat.

Brick builders Lego are celebrating this Batman Day (September 19) by highlighting some of the many, many, many sets they’ve crafted from the Caped Crusader’s comics, movies and games.

And we’ve chosen to make a list of some of our favourites, all based on Batman’s most trusty of transits: The Batmobile.

Since its first appearance in Detective Comics #48 (February 1941), the Batmobile has always been about form and function, but with sensibilities often leaning towards the earlier. Once again, this is a billionaire we are talking about here behind the wheel.

LEGO has paid close attention to snapping together every detail of these four Iconic Batmobiles.

The latest take on the iconic car returns the car to its American muscle origins.

This bold and brawny kit of 330 pieces pairs a LEGO Minifigure of Pattinson’s emo emperor of the night with a Batmobile he can sit in and drive.

Batman & Robin Batmobile

While Batman’s 1997 film outing is very much a product of the late ’90s…and his lowest-rated movie to date, Batman & Robin had one of the most iconic, runway-ready roadsters.

Aerodynamic bat wings at the back led lights along the wheels, sides and front. Exposed engine-drill thingy! It’s all here in 272 pieces, and with a Batman Minifigure ready for a night of crime-fighting in Gotham…or a stroll down the 1997 Vogue Winter Showcase in Milan.

Batman Tumbler vs. Two-Face & The Joker

This Batmobile is so legendary that it even has a name that isn’t the Batmobile. The Tumbler may very well have got its name from the fact that Christopher Nolan had his take roll over and explode the same, or more, than a Transformer from Michael Bay’s movies of the same period in time.

With a large 429 pieces, and  Batman, Two-Face and Joker Minifigures, as well as a Bat Symbol, this is one big battle ready for you to build.

We saved the biggest and best (in my opinion) Batmobile for last.

While Warner Bros. made the somewhat controversial decision to demote legendary macabre master Tim Burton on this “Bat flick,” it retained a great deal of his signature style. And Batman Forever’s Batmobile is the perfect balance of form and function.

This 909-piece kit also includes a Batman minifigure and a very appropriate stand.
