007 First Light

Lana Del Rey and David Arnold Release “First Light” Theme for 007 First Light

When Lenny Kravitz is the big baddie in your game, it’s hard to believe that he isn’t also contributing the theme song. Instead, the honour of that for IO Interactive’s upcoming 007 First Light, shooting onto PC and consoles May 27, 2026, goes to American pop icon Lana Del Ray.

Working with longtime Bond film composer and overall BAFTA legend David Arnold, it appears that the Swedish game developer known for the Hitman franchise gave Del Ray the full James Bond title song experience, and she ran with it!

The song of the same name as the game is a warm jazz lounge anthem that cashes in on Del Ray’s sultry crooning, but also adds in some light, youthful high notes that seemingly capture the fact we are dealing with a Bond who is in his mid-twenties and just getting his start.

“The music of James Bond has always been a huge part of its identity. A title song has to tell us about the world we are about to enter. It has to intrigue, excite, and beckon us in. This song joins a long line of genre-defining songs, each creating a benchmark of style that adds to the magnificent heritage of ‘The Bond Song’. That’s why I was so excited to work with Lana, an artist who brought elegance, atmosphere, and her totally unique character to this piece, which I hope will open the world of Bond to a whole new audience,” states David Arnold in a press release.

“It’s a joy to watch two extraordinary talents like Lana Del Rey and David Arnold combine forces; the result feels instantly ‘Bond’ while still bringing a fresh identity for 007 First Light. Bond’s return to gaming is a landmark moment for us at IO Interactive, and having a title song of this quality makes it even more special,” highlights Hakan Abrak, CEO at IO Interactive in the same press release.

You can watch the full title song sequence tomorrow [April 17] at 4 p.m.
