Konami Announces Silent Hill 2 Remake From Bloober Team
After months of rumours and a stumble at the finish line, it is official: Silent Hill 2 is coming to PlayStation 5 and PC with Bloober Team at the helm.
There isn’t much to go on at this moment but if we take a look at the Steam page:
Having received a letter from his deceased wife, James heads to where they shared so many memories, in the hope of seeing her one more time: Silent Hill. There, by the lake, he finds a woman eerily similar to her…
“My name…is Maria,” the woman smiles. Her face, her voice… She’s just like her.
Experience a master-class in psychological survival horror—lauded as the best in the series—on the latest hardware with chilling visuals and visceral sounds.
In addition to Bloober Team helming with the project, original team members Masahiro Ito and Akira Yamaoka have been working on the remake. I’ve enjoyed the work the Bloober Team has delivered over the last few years, Layers of Fear,The Medium, and Blair Witch.
Following the presentation, we also received confirmation that Silent Hill 2 will be a timed exclusive for PS5 and PC for a period of 12 months. We also heard from members of the development team who are looking to “recreate everything that made the game a timeless classic, but to give it a new form which will draw players even deeper into the foggy streets of Silent Hill.”
