Kirby and the Forgotten Land

Kirby And The Forgotten Land Shows Mouthful Mode

Kirby and the Forgotten Land appears as though it’s out to be another installation in the long-running platformer series that’s not soon to be forgotten. From what we’ve seen so far, there’s a lot to this mix of village-builder and open-world adventure that’s going to be a new experience to breathe in and stomach. And today, we got perhaps the hardest addition to swallow: Mouthful Mode.

This new addition to Kirby’s vacuum-like power Copy Abilities allows Kirby to suck up cars to become a… Kirby and zoom around the map and through obstacles. But its uses don’t stop there. Need enemies to be canned? Simple! Swallow a vending machine and become a juice can shooting menace. These skills will apparently work differently than Kirby’s Copy Abilities, and appear to be tied primarily to solving puzzles using the environment. It looks like Kirby is in for a whole new structure of challenges to rescue missing Waddle Dees and enlist them to help restore the rundown Waddle Dee Town.

We’ve also been given a good look at the process by which we will be able to upgrade Copy Abilities and how we’ll need to prioritize them in order to solve the mysteries of the Forgotten World when Karby drives his way onto the Nintendo Switch on March 25th in Kirby and the Forgotten Land.
