I’ve spent the last week playing around with some of JSAUX’s latest gadgets.
My Steam Deck has become an integral companion in my gaming life over the past few years. Its versatility in playing almost anything I wanted it to play made it one of my favourite handhelds of all time, but I always knew it could do more. I never really made use of its ability to dock or connect to a TV or other external display. It always felt like too much work, a mess of cords and cables that I just didn’t want to deal with if I had a fantastic experience handheld.
After going hands-on with a suite of JSAUX accessories, I wish I had finally done this sooner. It’s a game-changer that easily brings my games to the big screen, removing a lot of unnecessary bloat and condensing them into one solid dock. Rounding out the package with a glare-reducing screen protector for when I am out and about and a charger that works just as well for the Switch 2 has made me engage with the Steam Deck in ways I haven’t before.
JSAUX, Dock That Deck
Let’s kick things off with the headliner, the JSAUX 4k@120Hz Docking Station. The small station sports a metal frame that feels super solid with silicone grips on the bottom and inside to keep it from moving. The Steam Deck slots in nicely, not moving at all, even with some table shake.
The dock itself sports a USB-C port with 100W PD fast charging, two USB ports, 4K@120Hz output, an HDMI 2.1 port, and a 100 Mbps Ethernet port. The Deck plugs in with a 25CM USB-C cable that pops in nicely on top. It also works with a bunch of other recent handhelds, like the ROG Ally and Legion Go.
The Docking Station makes hooking up a breeze. While it’s not as instant as the Switch, it’s just one simple USB-C connection. It looks and works incredibly well, and it lets you plug it in and keep the Deck charged the entire time. Hopping into online games sports a solid connection with the Ethernet port, while the USB ports let you plug in almost anything. It’s so much easier to plug in a wireless keyboard and mouse to make navigating desktop mode easier, or even a wired USB controller if you’re sitting near the monitor. I’ve had absolutely no issues with the Docking Station, and I’ve easily used the Steam Deck with my monitor and TV more in the last week than I have in the last 3 years combined.
Charging Champion
The quality translates to the USB-C charging cable as well. The 60W output makes fast charging a breeze, bringing the Switch 2 to 50 percent in about an hour. I’ve used it with my Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, Switch 2 (both docked and undocked), and the Steam Deck (also docked and undocked).
It makes moving my Switch 2 dock between monitors a breeze, especially since I had to mess with plugging and unplugging the Switch 2 power cable before. The charging block is smaller and more compact than the standard Switch 2 charger, uses GaN technology instead of silicon-based chargers, and takes up less space on my power strip. It uses a built-in PD 3.0 chip that changes the power output based on the device it’s charging, anywhere from 5V/3A to 20V/3A to help protect battery life. The 6.6 ft USB-C is long enough for most outputs, easily reaching from the back of my entertainment console to the top.
Glare No More
Rounding out the JSAUX accessories I checked out is the JSAUX 2-Pack Anti-Glare Screen Protectors for Steam Deck. Using my Deck outside has always been more annoying due to the glare, but the screen protectors help a lot. The matte finish makes it much more readable and easier to see, significantly reducing glare, even if it doesn’t eliminate it entirely. It’s really simple to install, and it comes with a guide that takes all the hassle out of placing it in the right spot. The plastic guide pops perfectly around the screen, making the process a quick few minutes to get the fit right. It’s made using my Deck outside, actually, without bending awkwardly to try and dodge the sun.
Verdict
Overall, the three JSAUX accessories are great picks for anyone looking to round out their handheld experience. The Docking Station makes using the Steam Deck on monitors and the TV a breeze. The charging cable has a good length and form factor, and it quickly charges the battery on whatever I use it with. The Anti-Glare Screen Protectors are easy to pop on and genuinely make a difference in dealing with glare. You can’t go wrong with any one of them.
