After previously announcing his departure from Microsoft, Joseph Staten has revealed he is a Creative Director at Netflix Games. Staten is best known for his work with Microsoft and Halo.
“In my work life, there’s nothing I love more than collaborating with others to build worlds filled with iconic characters, deep mysteries, and endless adventures,” Staten said on Twitter. “So today, I’m thrilled to announce that I’ve joined Netflix Games as Creative Director for a brand-new AAA multiplatform game and original IP. Let’s go!”

At Microsoft, Staten originally worked at Xbox Publishing before moving to 343 Industries to get the Halo Infinite launch ready. He then returned to his role at Xbox Publishing before announcing his departure last month.
Staten is working on “a brand-new AAA multiplatform game and original IP.” While there are no other details at this time, it’s an exciting place to land for a veteran of the games industry.

Netflix is taking on the gaming industry after several acquisitions including Night School Studio and Spry Fox. The streaming giant has also opened an in-house studio and is developing a AAA PC game with Chacko Sunny.
