Announced at Summer Game Fest, Focus Entertainment and Saber Interactive revealed John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando.
Described as co-operative FPS, a science experiment has gone wrong after scientists attempted to mine the Earth’s core for power. Awakening the Sludge God, this demonic presence turns people into zombies and it is up to you to stop them. You’ll be able to play with friends or solo as you have a wide range of skills and weapons to take the undead on.
“It’s exciting to be collaborating on a new video game with Focus and Saber. Look, I really like shooting zombies,” says John Carpenter. “They keep telling me that they’re called ’the infected.’ Please. They’re ghouls, dude. They blow up real good and there are a ton of them. People are going to love this game.”
“We’re excited to partner with our friends at Focus again and thrilled to collaborate with the legendary John Carpenter on this project,” Tim Willits, Chief Creative Officer at Saber Interactive says. “His unique vision, unparalleled expertise in storytelling, and ability to create immersive atmospheres have helped us to elevate this all-new, 80s-inspired experience to the next level. His works have been an inspiration for years and it’s an honour to work alongside him to deliver a truly unforgettable adventure.”
John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC in 2024.
