Red Art Games will launch a Joe & Mac Retro Collection on consoles and PC this October.
The collection includes three Joe & Mac games from the 90s released on the SNES in the West, plus the uncensored Japanese versions (in Japan, the series was called Tatakae Genshijin), with new features. The compilation includes Joe & Mac: Caveman Ninja, Congo’s Caper, and Joe & Mac 2: Lost in the Tropics, the three Joe & Mac titles developed by Data East and released on Super Nintendo between 1991 and 1995.
The first Joe & Mac was a ‘run & gun’ platformer following the two brothers across 12 levels. It was censored in the West.
Congo’s Capers was a side-scroller with a half-human, half-monkey boy looking to rescue his girlfriend from a demon through 35 levels.
Joe & Mac: Lost in the Tropics added RPG elements while still taking on dinosaurs and cavemen, while trying to wed your girlfriends and have a kid with them.
