For months, fans of the original Hollow Knight have been hoping to hear news about the sequel but now it appears unlikely we’ll get any news about Team Cherry’s upcoming sequel Hollow Knight: Silksong as it is unlikely to appear during E3.
Revealed on the developer’s official Discord channel but confirmed on Reddit, Matthew Griffin, the marketing and publishing lead confirmed that there will be nothing to announce or show at E3, suggesting that the team is working away on Silksong. What was once an expansion soon turned into a fully-fledged sequel, starring Hornet, the princess of Hallownest who must embark into an unknown world. Fans have been clamouring for new details for some time now and as the scope of the project has grown over the last few years, it makes sense that the developers want to ensure they are ready before confirming anything.
However, who knows, Team Cherry could very well make an appearance during Summer Game Fest and forego the bigger ESA-backed event.
