HP Goes Big On Gaming at CES 2024 with its HP OMEN Series

Their latest portfolio includes monitors, headsets, keyboards, and more!

CES is always full of exciting announcements. But when the gaming industry and gamer-focused products are announced, we take notice!

HP showed off their latest gaming portfolio this week, introducing a slew of new and updated products and a ton from its HP OMEN series, including the world’s lightest gaming laptop.

This shiny white beauty below tips the scales at only 3.5 pounds or 1.6 kg. To put that in perspective, think of the laptop weighing the same as a bottle of wine, an iron, or a small bag of potatoes. It also means the MacBook Pro and the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 are lighter than their competitors.

But the HP OMEN Transcend 14 Gaming Laptop is not just impressive on the exterior. It packs a solid gaming punch as well.

HP says the laptop is taking full advantage of built-in and cloud-based AI technology through NVIDIA and Otter.ai for “live transcript and real-time captions during meetings or classes, a record function for transcribing audio, and AI-generated notes.”

HP OMEN Transcend 14 Specs

  • Intel Core Ultra 9 185H processor
  • up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Laptop GPUs
  • NPU and OpenVINO plugins for OBS studio
  • IMAX Enhanced Certified 2.8K 120Hz VRR OLED display
  • first-ever laptop tuned using HyperX

You can check out even more of what’s being offered, including the Transcend 16 updates, on HP’s website.

The HyperX Effect

HP purchased HyperX back in 2021, and the move is now making waves in other parts of its gaming lineup. As mentioned above, HyperX audio technology will be showing up in the HP OMEN laptops, but it will also continue its work with new headsets.

The company says the HyperX Cloud III Wireless Headsets are “tailored for younger gaming enthusiasts to provide comfort and safe sound experiences with volume-limiting capabilities to ensure a safer auditory experience.” These can also be bundled with the OMEN laptops at the time of purchase.

HyperX will also have its name on new mini controllers and keyboards.

New HP OMEN Display

While many items listed above are for on-the-go use, HP also unveiled an impressive HP OMEN Transcend 32 UHD 240Hz OLED Gaming Monitor.

The screen boasts a lovely QD-OLED Panel, with a peak performance reaching 1,500,000:1 contrast ratio, 240Hz refresh rate, and 0.3 ms response time.

HP also says it is the world’s first “gaming monitor with independent switchable USB Ports” and the first OLED display with 140W USB-C power delivery.1JU3t3j
