HoYoverse And GUNNAR Collab On Zenless Zone Zero Frame

Californian eyewear designer GUNNAR is becoming an otaku.

That is, they are joining HoYoverse, the company of otakus making much-loved mobile anime-adjacent games, in launching a new video game-inspired frame based on the combat eyewear of Soldier 11 from Zenless Zone Zero.

The new, aptly named Soldier 11 frame adopts GUNNAR’s recent video game frame trait of being oversized and futuristically festooned.

Unlike GUNNAR’s most recent gaming frame, which is inspired by the luxury of a flamboyant fixer with a gun that costs money to fire…and a life that lasts…not very long, the Soldier 11 is intended for practicality and protection — even if it adopts a similar oversized single lens.

However, that’s where the similarities end.

Utilitarian, clean, and slim black metal arms support the thick lens. And there’s continued utilitarian subtlety from the silver Zenless Zone Zero insignia on each arm, and then yellow banding around the edges of the frame.

Staying true to the inspiration, GUNNAR is outfitting this frame with its eye-catching “Amber” G-Shield Plus lens, which it claims is the world’s first gaming-focused lens, designed to block blue light and reduce eye strain from screens.

We came to appreciate Gunnar’s claims earlier this year with another collab frame.

The HoYoverse X GUNNAR Soldier 11 frame is coming soon.

It’ll ship in a Collectors’ Edition puffy protection pouch with a special collab logo, plus a 2-year warranty protection.
