While this isn’t the Forza Horizon 3 Hot Wheels expansion, it sure does look like a great way to play a new arcade racer that combines the nostalgia of Hot Wheels with the need for speed.
For me, the brand has been a staple in my house for years. I’ve owned dozens of cars, track sets, and my relatives spoiled me with them at Christmas. This new racer from developer Milestone might be worth keeping an eye out for, as the trailer does a good job at catching my attention.
The cars look great and are exactly as I remember them from my childhood and seeing them rev and roar across some really fun-looking tracks certainly makes this seem like a great way to waste some time. What worries me though, is how varied will the stages be and whether or not the game can keep me invested for more than an hour or two. A lot of what is shown in the trailer speaks to me and with the nextNeed for Speeddelayed due to the pandemic, this may scratch the arcade racer itch I have.
As for cars, we only know of six of them right now: Rodger Dodger, Twin Mill, Rip Rod, Night Shifter, Dragon Blaster, Sharkruiser. We’re also promised more than 60 cards at launch. Furthermore, the press release mentions a track editor being available, enabling players to craft tracks in any environment and then share them online.
