Team Cherry announced late last night that its upcoming game Hollow Knight: Silksong would not launch in the first half of 2023. The news arrives via Matthew Griffin, the head of marketing and publishing at the studio.
“We had planned to release [Hollow Knight: Silkskong] the first half of 2023, but development is still continuing,” Matthew Griffin tweeted. “We’re excited by how the game is shaping up, and it’s gotten quite big, so we want to take the time to make the game as good as we can.
“Expect more details from us once we get closer to release.”
Having originally been an expansion for Hollow Knight, Silksong was then expanded upon featuring Hornet as the protagonist. In 2019, the change to make Silksong a standalone was made because of the scope of the project.
