With the highly-anticipated launch of Halo Infinite just a few short weeks away on December 8th, 2021, Xbox is excited to share and celebrate some of their favorite moments from the past history of their 20 years of life — with a large feature on Halo. You can catch the event Monday, November 15 at 1:00 PM ET on the official Xbox channel on YouTube, Twitch, and Facebook.
In order to get you ready for the event and the future of Halo, in particular, Xbox shared some series statistics with Console Creatures, and they prove to us that you really, and I mean really, love Halo!
Combined, 81 million copies of Halo titles have been sold worldwide to date. These strong sales have contributed to the Halo brand pulling in six billion dollars so far.
The Halo: The Master Chief Collection has been a specifically good indicator of how strong the Halo community still is as it saw over three million players on Xbox and PC in its first week and over 41 million hours of total play overall in 2020.
Over its lifetime, Halo has produced 30 novels, a number of live-action adaptations and official fan films, and a live Paramount + series set for release in 2022 that promised to show another side of Master Chief.
With Halo Infinite, Xbox is promising the most advanced experience to date. Featuring a cross-platform, free-to-play multiplayer that will welcome the whole community to be a part of the action without having to put a single dollar on the table. But they want you to know that doesn’t mean the single-player campaign experience has suffered at all! Halo Infinite will be available on day 1 with multiplayer exclusives as part of the Xbox Game Pass.
