Hideo Kojima Shares Physint Details On His Podcast

Hideo Kojima’s back with his Koji10 podcast after stepping away for a few years and is kicking into gear with an update on Physint.

Per Genki on Twitter, Kojima shared a lot of details about the upcoming game, a spiritual successor to Metal Gear. This comes after Xbox picked up the publishing rights to Physint after PlayStation told Kojima they were no longer paying for development. Kojima says Physint evokes the “roots” of Metal Gear and will be a “new interactive experience,” with a “different kind of spy action.”

In addition, Kojima says he knows the lot and wants to include plenty of new ideas to celebrate his 40th anniversary of being in the games industry. Actors Bill Skarsgård, Charlie Fraser and Minami Hamabe have already been scanned, and around 70 percent of the cast are fans of Kojima’s work.

Filming will begin next year, and many character names have been decided. Kojima pitched the game to the actors himself to give them a sense of the story. Kojima says he makes each one of his games as though it could be his last, and at 63 years old, I don’t blame him.

While this game is still in the early stages, Kojima’s other Xbox project is called OD and has been described as a successor to PT.
