Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice will receive a free VR update on PC next week. This will allow both the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive headsets to be used for the full game.
According to Ninja Theory, the new VR mode will be nearly indentical to the base game and will retain the same perspective as before and the video included in this post details what the studio did to bring this new experience to life. In order to ensure players didn’t get nauseated while playing, the studio toyed with the camera and head-tracking movements so that this prevented that sick feeling some people get while using VR. The studio tweaked the graphic requirements to include at least an NVIDIA GTX 1080 or AMD Radeon RX 580 in order to run the game at the intended 90 FPS.
If you’re wondering whether the VR mode will see release on PlayStation VR, think again as the game’s new mode was created specifically for high-end PC setups.
Pretty cool, Ninja Theory!
