Gearbox Publishing and Magic Design Studios have just kicked off their three-part teaser trailer drop for the darkly charming 2D action roguelike Have A Nice Death.
This first video, “Your First Day as CEO”, shows that while death may be internal, the employees of Death Inc. who are responsible for overseeing it are incompetent.
As CEO, you’re going to have to jump in and reap what you sow.
In case you can’t do the math to save your life, there are still two trailers left to release. The “Tour of Death Inc.” trailer launching on February 15, will let you take a carefree and death-free tour of the procedurally generated departments [worlds] within Death Inc.’s headquarters. While on March 1, you can watch the “Tools of the Trade” trailer to be introduced to the delightfully deadly weapons, cloaks [death has got the drip!], and spells you can have in your arsenal.
Have a Nice Death is a hand-drawn 2D Action Roguelike where you will assume the role of Death, Founder and CEO of Death Incorporated, the giant underworld organization responsible for processing souls in the afterlife. As the company’s supreme leader, explore the darkly charming, procedurally generated departments of the corporation’s headquarters to round up and rehabilitate rogue employees who have been ignoring company protocol and snatching up far too many souls on Earth. Getting the department bosses—also known as Sorrows—and their minions under control, however, is a difficult task and will require multiple runs to complete. Luckily, death is dealing in an arsenal of weapons, spells and special skills to get the job done.
Developed by Magic Design Studios, Have a Nice Death is now available on Steam in Early Access for $19.99. Announced during the Nintendo Indie World showcase in November, on March 22, the darkly charming roguelike will leave Early Access and officially launch on Nintendo Switch and PC (Steam and Steam Deck) for $24.99.
