Hangar 13 is working on a new Mafia game according to a new interview with the developer celebrating the series’ 20th anniversary. This news comes after months of rumours began swirling on the internet about a potential follow-up to Mafia 3.
The interview celebrating the 20th anniversary of the franchise is worth reading as it features Hangar 13 General Manager Roman Hladík and Head of Production and Media Director Tomáš Hřebíček reminiscing about the last 20 years.
“I’m happy to confirm we’ve started work on an all-new Mafia project!” GM Roman Hladik said. “While it’s a few years away and we can’t share anything more right now, we’re really excited to keep working on this beloved franchise and to entertain our players with new stories.”

To commemorate the anniversary, 2K has made the original Mafia free on Steam from September 1 – September 5. The original Mafia game came out in 2002 and was remade in 2020 as Mafia Definitive Edition. The game tells the story of a crime family out of Chicago during the 1930s with each subsequent Mafia title taking place in a new setting.
