Joseph Staten has confirmed he is leaving Microsoft after recently working on Halo at 343 Industries.

“We’re grateful for Joseph’s contributions to the Halo franchise and Xbox as a whole,” Microsoft tells IGN. “We wish him all the best in his new adventure.”
On Twitter, Staten confirms he is leaving after nine years saying, “Hey folks, I am indeed leaving Microsoft. I’ll have more info to share soon, but for now, I’d just like to thank all my Xbox colleagues for all their understanding and support as I embark on a new adventure.”
Staten has been a part of the Halo series since the beginning with Combat Evolved as a cinematic director on Halo 2 and Halo 3. He would then work on Bungie’s Destiny before departing for Microsoft and joining 343 Industries to work on Halo Infinite. Staten then departed the studio in January to return to Microsoft.
