Halo Infinite Kicks Off Its First Technical Preview Tomorrow

It’s time to gear up Spartans, as 343 Industries is inviting players to test Halo Infinite with a technical preview starting this week.

The upcoming technical preview will let a select number of Halo Insiders try out a few multiplayer modes.

Some modes and features included this time around are Bot Slayer, Weapon Drills, Waypoint vNext.

Bot Slayer will have 4 players go head-to-head with 4 Bots in one of three maps (Live Fire, Bazaar, and Recharge). 343 says Bots in Halo Infinite will be using dedicated servers, unlike the standard multiplayer match-making process. Bots are also a new addition to the series and 343 is excited to see how they fare against the players.

Bots begin on the lowest skill level on a single map to help players acclimate to them, once the community reaches a certain goal, then the developers will increase the Bots’ skill and add more maps. The more you defeat, the more the technical beta will evolve getting deadlier with each update.

Closer to the end of the preview, 343 will be adding a 4v4 Social Arena Slayer if some of their target engagement and testing goals are met.

The next mode in the first preview is Weapons Drills. You’ll be able to test your shooting skills with a number of weapons including:

  • MA40 AR
  • BR75
  • MK50 Sidekick
  • CQS48 Bulldog
  • Needler
  • VK78 Commando
  • S7 Sniper
  • Plasma Pistol
  • Pulse Carbine
  • Ravager
  • Heatwave
  • Skewer

In the tech preview, 343 will give Insiders a chance to see the new Battle Pass. You’ll be given a set amount of in-game credits (think V-Bucks but for Halo) to spend on the parred down Battle Pass.

It’s worth noting that the items in the Battle Pass won’t carry over to the game’s full release later this year, since the game is still a work-in-progress.

The last item is Waypoint vNext, which is a revamped version of Halo Waypoint. It’ll be available on your web browser and also iOS and Android via an app. You can also edit and update your Spartan using this experience and it’s all going to work with MCC and Halo 5!
