As part of yesterday’s Take-Two financial briefing, CEO Strauss Zelnick confirms that development on GTA 6 is “well underway.”
“The Rockstar Games team is determined to once again set creative benchmarks for the series, our industry, and for all entertainment, just as the label has done with every one of their frontline releases,” said Zelnick.
Unfortunately, very little is known about GTA 6 but the current rumour mill says it will feature the series’ first female protagonist — a Latina woman. The story will include a story influenced by Bonny and Clyde and will be set in Vice City with an ever-expanding map.
Rockstar Games confirmed the game’s development back in February.
In related news, GTA V has sold over 170 million copies in nine years. This number is up by five million units over the last three months and this is likely due to the game being updated on Xbox Series and PlayStation 5. GTA Online has been consistently popular with the online component seeing a player count by nearly 40 percent.
