Grandia HD Collection Coming Soon

The Grandia HD Collection is currently in the works for Nintendo Switch and the Grandia HD Remaster for PC will be released the same day the collection for the Switch goes live. GungHo Online Entertainment America confirmed the news via a press release on their website, confirming work is wrapping up and we will see more of the collection at E3 next week.

It’s been years since I’ve played either title and it’s nice to see some love for the series, even though we’ve not seen a new entry since 2005’s Grandia III.

As for why the collection is only coming to the Nintendo Switch, Grandia II Anniversary Edition launched several years ago on PC and is available on Steam. When Grandia HD Collection launches and the first game comes to PC, the Anniversary Edition will be rebranded as Grandia II HD Remaster on PC.

I can’t wait to jump back into these titles on the Switch. The second Grandia sticks with me years after playing it on PlayStation 2 and the fond memories of staying up to the next morning playing it are fresh in my head.

GRANDIA HD Collection, GRANDIA HD Remaster (PC), and GRANDIA II HD Remaster (PC) will feature a variety of new and improved features such as:

GRANDIA features

  • Enhanced details to UI, sprites, and texture art
  • Original cinematic videos receiving visual enhancements

  • Language Support: Original English and Japanese plus French and German translation
